Your Seed Has Power — Don’t Leave It in Your Hands

Share

Everything you need is already in your hands — it just hasn’t been planted yet.

The harvest you’ve been praying for begins with a seed. And the truth is, a seed does nothing until it’s released. Sometimes we hold on so tightly to what we have, not realizing that God can’t multiply what we refuse to sow.

“Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year a hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him.” — Genesis 26:12 (KJV)

When Isaac sowed, famine surrounded him — but faith sustained him. He didn’t wait for perfect conditions; he trusted a perfect God.

If you’re believing for more — more peace, more provision, more purpose — this is your moment to plant. Your seed is not lost when you give; it’s multiplied.

ROHO exists to pour God’s word into your life every single day. Your $5 gift helps us continue sending devotionals that lift hearts, restore faith, and change lives around the world.

Scripture for Meditation

Proverbs 11:24 (KJV) — "There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty." Beloved, this is the paradox of God's kingdom: generosity multiplies while hoarding diminishes. When you release what's in your hand, you position yourself to receive what God has prepared for you.

2 Corinthians 9:6 (KJV) — "But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully." The measure of your harvest is determined by the courage of your planting. God does not ask you to plant what you cannot afford to lose — He asks you to plant what you cannot afford not to sow.

Malachi 3:10 (KJV) — "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse... and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." This is God's standing invitation: test Him with your faithfulness, and watch Him prove His provision beyond what your hands alone could hold.

Walking It Out

Identify one seed to sow this week. Whether it's a financial gift to your church, ROHO, or a person in need, commit to a specific amount and timeline. Write it down. This is not about the size of the seed — it's about the size of your faith.

Create a "sowing declaration." Write out what you're believing God to multiply in your life — provision, peace, purpose, healing — and speak it aloud as you give your seed. Connect your natural act of giving to your spiritual expectation of harvest.

Track your harvest testimony. Document what God multiplies in the weeks and months ahead. When you see provision return — in unexpected checks, closed deals, opened doors, or divine favor — write it down and thank Him. Your testimony becomes your proof that seeds planted in faith always yield a harvest.

A Prayer for You

Father, forgive me for the times I've held so tightly to what I have that I've blocked the flow of Your blessing through my life. Today, I release my seed in faith, trusting that what I sow in Your name will return multiplied beyond my imagination. Give me the courage to plant even when circumstances look impossible, and the faith to believe that You multiply what I cannot. Let this act of sowing become a declaration that I trust Your provision more than my own grip. In Jesus' name, Amen.
