What Are You Asking God to Do? 🙏🏾

Share

Now I want you to take what you have been carrying in your heart all day and lay it before God in prayer.

Philippians 4:6 reminds us: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Prayer is where expectation becomes petition. It is where faith stops being silent and begins to speak. It is where you invite heaven to interrupt earth on your behalf.

Whatever you are believing God for — write it down. Speak it aloud. Submit it as a prayer request so that we can agree with you. Together, we will trust that God hears and answers.

"Speak to my heart, Holy Spirit, Give me the words that will bring new life" (

Go into this night knowing you are heard. Go to sleep knowing heaven has been alerted to your situation. Rest knowing that the God who never slumbers is already at work.

Scripture for Meditation

Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV) — "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and your minds through Christ Jesus." When you lay your burden down in prayer, beloved, you are not leaving it there helpless—you are placing it in the hands of the One who holds all things together. The peace that follows is not the absence of struggle, but the presence of God's promise that He is already working.

Mark 11:24 (NKJV) — "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." There is power in the specificity of your prayer. When you name it, claim it, and believe it before you see it, you are declaring your faith louder than your circumstances. God honors the boldness of a believing heart.

1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) — "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." Your request is already heard in heaven, family. God does not process prayers slowly or reluctantly—He bends His ear toward you the moment you speak.

Walking It Out

Write it down today. Do not let your prayer remain only in your thoughts. Take pen to paper and write out what you are asking God to do. Be specific—not vague. Name the situation, the person, the need. This act of writing transforms your prayer from a whisper into a declaration.

Speak it aloud before sleep. Tonight, before your head touches the pillow, pray your request aloud in your own words. Let your ears hear your faith. Then rest in the assurance that heaven has been notified and God is already moving while you sleep.

Share your request with one trusted believer. Reach out to someone in your faith community—a prayer partner, a mentor, a pastor—and ask them to agree with you in prayer. Matthew 18:19 promises that when two agree on earth, it shall be done. You are not meant to carry this burden alone.

A Prayer for You

Father, I come to You tonight with the requests that have been weighing on my heart, and I lay them all at Your feet. I believe that You hear me, that You care about every detail of my life, and that You are already at work on my behalf. Give me the faith to rest while You are moving, and the courage to speak my petitions boldly, without shame and without doubt. Keep my mind stayed on Your promise, and let Your peace guard my heart through this season. In Jesus' name, Amen.
