Unlock Your Hidden Potential--You Are More Than Enough
The wealthiest place on this planet is not the oil fields of Iraq or Saudi Arabia. Neither is it the gold and diamond mines of South Africa, the uranium mines of the Soviet Union, or the silver mines of Mexico. Though it may surprise you, the richest deposits on our planet lie just a few blocks from your house. They rest in your local cemetery or graveyard. Buried beneath the soil within the walls of those hallowed grounds are dreams that never came to pass, songs that were never sung, books that were never written, paintings that never filled a canvas, ideas that were never shared, visions that never became reality, inventions that were never designed, plans that never went beyond the drawing board of the mind, and purposes that were never fulfilled.
Our graveyards are filled with unrealized potential. What a tragedy! As I walk the streets of our cities, my heart frequently burns as I encounter and observe feel like their best days are behind them. Because once they we had dreams, desires, plans, and aspirations. Today they are lost in a maze of hopelessness, purposelessness, and poorly chosen friends. Their lives are aimless, their decisions haphazard. This enormous tragedy saddens me. What could they have become? Their wealth of dreams has been dashed into the poverty of discouragement. Only a small percentage of the 7 billion people on this planet will experience a significant portion of their true potential. Are you a candidate for contributing to the wealth of the cemetery?
Ask yourself the following questions: Who am I?
How much potential has God placed inside me?
Within the answers to these questions lies the key to a fulfilled, effective life. One of the greatest tragedies in life is to watch potential die untapped. Many potentially great men and women never realize their potential because they do not understand the nature and concept of the potential principle. As God has revealed to me the nature of potential, I must share what I have learned. There’s a wealth of potential in you. ROHO’s purpose is to help you understand that potential and get it out. You must decide if you are going to rob the world or bless it with the rich, valuable, potent, untapped resources locked away within you. You are more than what you have done.
Scripture for Meditation
Proverbs 29:18 — "Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he." Beloved, without vision—without a clear sense of God's purpose for your life—you will drift aimlessly, your gifts buried and forgotten. The Lord has already planted dreams within you; your assignment is to tend them, protect them, and pursue them with holy intention.
Ephesians 2:10 — "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." You are not an accident, family. Before the foundation of the world, the Almighty designed you with a specific calling, equipped you with unique talents, and ordained a path of significance for your steps. That potential locked inside you is no coincidence—it is divine appointment.
2 Timothy 1:6 — "Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands." The gifts God has given you will not activate themselves. You must consciously, deliberately stir them up, dust them off, and put them to work. Complacency is the enemy of your destiny.
Walking It Out
Write down three dreams or talents you have buried. Today, pull out pen and paper and name the gifts, callings, or aspirations you have postponed or abandoned. Be honest. What have you told yourself you're "too old" or "too late" to pursue? Write them down without judgment.
Take one small action toward rekindling one of those dreams this week. Not next month—this week. If it's a book, outline one chapter. If it's a ministry, make one phone call. If it's a skill, enroll in one class or watch one tutorial. One action breaks the spell of inaction.
Find an accountability partner and share your vision with them. Call a trusted brother or sister in Christ and speak your dreams aloud. Ask them to check in with you monthly. Isolation breeds abandonment; community breeds breakthrough.
A Prayer for You
Father, I come before You today asking that You awaken the dreamer in me. Forgive me for the years I have buried my gifts in fear, discouragement, or the voices of naysayers. You did not create me to die with my music still inside me, with my purpose still unfinished. Give me the courage to believe again, the wisdom to plan strategically, and the discipline to take daily steps toward the destiny You have ordained for my life. Let me not be found in that graveyard of unrealized potential, but let my life be a testimony to what is possible when a soul aligns with Your will. In Jesus' name, Amen.
