This song’s been on my heart all morning…

This morning, I woke up humming a song I hadn’t heard in a while. Isn’t it something how the Holy Spirit can bring a melody into your spirit at just the right moment? That’s how I knew this wasn’t just a song—it was a reminder.

This song carried me through some of my own quiet seasons, and I wanted to share it with you in case it speaks to you too.

Scripture for Meditation

Psalm 37:23-24 (KJV) — "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand." Beloved, when the Holy Spirit puts a song on your heart, it's not coincidence—it's divine ordering. Your Father knows exactly what melody you need to hear in this season, and He delights in guiding your steps through it.

Proverbs 20:27 (NKJV) — "The spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD, searching all the inner depths of his heart." Family, that tune humming in your spirit this morning? That's the lamp of the Lord illuminating something He wants you to remember about your purpose. Pay attention to what He's stirring within you.

Philippians 4:8 (KJV) — "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." When a song carries you through your quiet seasons, it's feeding your mind with truth. Guard those moments. They are spiritual nourishment for your journey ahead.

Walking It Out

Pause and listen. Today, set aside ten minutes of quiet time—no phone, no distractions. Let that melody play in your heart again. Ask the Holy Spirit: "What are You reminding me of? What truth do I need to hear right now about my calling?" Write down whatever comes to mind.

Share your testimony. Just as Rev. Richards shared this song with you, tell someone else what the Lord has put on your heart this week. Your quiet season's breakthrough could be the exact word someone you know needs to hear today.

Declare it aloud. Don't just hum it—sing it. Speak it. Your purpose isn't meant to stay silent in your spirit. Let your faith rise with volume and conviction.

A Prayer for You

Father, I thank You for putting songs of deliverance on my heart when I need them most. Tune my ear to hear the melodies of Your purpose for my life, and give me the courage to walk in what You've called me to do. When doubt creeps in during my quiet seasons, remind me that You are ordering my steps and holding me by my hand. Let my life become a testimony that draws others into the revelation of Your love and plan. In Jesus' name, Amen.
