The Keeping Power of God
I remember a few years ago, a member of my family became very sick. Out of nowhere, he began having heart issues. One thing led to another, and suddenly the doctors told him he needed surgery. We were stunned.
I spent several nights in the hospital with him after that procedure, watching him recuperate. Then came the hard news: the doctors told him he would need an additional surgery in six months.
During those six months of waiting, I watched him closely. I saw him get up every day, try to regain his strength, go back to work, and intentionally deepen his relationship with God. As I prayed for him, a revelation hit me: His healing was still months away, but his spirit was already high.
I realized then that God doesn’t just meet us at the finish line of our recovery. God can keep you even when you are not yet fully healed. You may be in a "six-month" window right now. You’re between the first surgery and the final recovery. You’re between the problem and the total breakthrough. But hear me: God’s keeping power is active in the middle of the mess.
"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." — Isaiah 26:3
If you need God's keeping power tonight, I want to stand with you. Do not carry that weight alone.
I am standing in the gap for every person who needs God's deliverance, healing, and peace right now. Whether you are waiting for a doctor’s report or a financial breakthrough, let’s take it to the Throne together.
Scripture for Meditation
Isaiah 26:3 (KJV) — "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." When your circumstances feel uncertain and your body feels fragile, God's peace is not dependent on your healing timeline—it flows from your trust in Him. Fix your mind on His faithfulness, not on the waiting.
Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV) — "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Notice: God guards you while you're waiting, not after you've arrived. Your six-month window is covered by His supernatural peace.
2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV) — "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness." In the middle of your struggle, God's grace is not running low—it is most powerful. Your weakness is the perfect place for His strength to show up and show out.
Walking It Out
Name your "six-month window" — Identify where you are between the problem and the breakthrough. Write it down. Is it a medical waiting period? A financial recovery? Emotional healing? Naming it removes its power to isolate you and reminds you that you are not lost in limbo—you are in God's timeline.
Establish a daily anchor practice — Choose one specific time each day to deliberately keep your mind stayed on God. This could be 10 minutes of Scripture reading, a worship song you play in your car, or a written prayer. Do this every day for the next week. This is how you build the habit of trust while you wait.
Tell someone your burden — Do not carry this alone. Call a prayer partner, your pastor, or a trusted believer and say, "I need someone to stand in the gap with me." Share your specific need. Let others become part of your keeping power narrative.
A Prayer for You
Father, I come before You on behalf of everyone holding this word tonight. You see the six-month windows, the waiting rooms, the nights of uncertainty. I ask You to keep them in perfect peace—not when the healing arrives, but right now, in the middle of the mess. Strengthen their spirits even as their bodies recover. Guard their minds from fear and despair, and anchor their thoughts to Your faithfulness. We declare that Your keeping power is not a future promise—it is a present reality. In Jesus' name, Amen.
