The God Who Governs Angel Armies, Has Set Encampments Around You, Who Shall You Fear?
Each of us has felt afraid. You have found yourself in a situation where you weren't sure how you were going to make it. When all of your friends and family are nowhere to be found, and you are left by yourself. I want you to know that being afraid is a common feeling, even Jesus felt afraid. Can you imagine what it must have been like for Jesus, for 40 days and 40 nights, tempted by the enemy? Jesus endured so much for you, and yet he also teaches us how to respond to fear.
The goal of every Christian is not to lie about how you feel, but to respond differently when fear creeps into your spirit. Last night , I heard a song called "Jehovah Sabaoth" and the lyrics moved me so deeply..."I shall not fear the arrow by day, Nor shall I fear the terror by night, The God who governs angel armies, Has set encampments around me. Whom shall I fear?" (
For if God be for us, then who shall be against us?
You will eventually experience a dark valley in which you will have desperate need for Jesus. And when this happens, you must remind yourself than even in the valley of the shadow of death, The Lord is Still Your Shepherd. There is no hiding from God. There is nothing you can do and nowhere you can go, where God's goodness and mercy are not chasing after you. I have found at my moments of fear, to simply recite the words of scripture to myself. To remind myself of God's protection over my life. I speak to my fear. I speak to the enemy and those things trying to destroy me and I tell them about the power of my God.
For God has called you and set you apart. You are a royal priesthood. Even if you are at your desk right now, and fear is creeping into your soul, I dare you to speak to your fear, " The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
