Start Again. Right Now

Share

This morning, I told you to get up.

Some of you broke your fast. Some of you missed your prayer time. Some of you already feel behind.

But in the Kingdom, we do not wait for Monday to begin again.

We begin the moment we become aware.

Acknowledge it briefly. Not with guilt. Not with drama. Just, “Lord, I slipped. I’m here again.”

Do something small — immediately. If you missed an hour of prayer, take five focused minutes right now. Open the Word. Close your eyes. Refocus.

Adjust your environment. Step away from what triggered the distraction. Change the room. Change the pace. Protect your next decision.

Lent is not about perfection. It is about return.

You do not lose the journey because you tripped. You lose it if you stay down.

Reply to this email with one word: Reset. I want to know who is standing back up this afternoon.

Scripture for Meditation

Proverbs 24:16 (KJV) — "For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief." Beloved, falling is not failure—staying down is. The righteous are marked not by sinlessness, but by their willingness to rise again, no matter how many times they stumble. Your financial journey, your spiritual disciplines, your commitments—they are not forfeited by one slip. They are forfeited only by resignation.

Lamentations 3:22-23 (KJV) — "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." Every morning, every hour, every moment of genuine return carries fresh mercy. You do not carry yesterday's failure into today's reset. God's compassions are not rationed by your mistakes; they are renewed by His nature. When you acknowledge your slip and turn back, you meet a God who has been waiting to welcome you home.

Philippians 3:13-14 (NKJV) — "Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Paul teaches us that progress is not about perfection—it is about pressing forward. Your financial stewardship, your prayer life, your fasting—these are marathons, not sprints. One stumble does not erase the distance you have already covered.

Walking It Out

1. Name it and release it right now. Do not let your slip linger in silence. Write down what happened—"I missed my prayer time. I overspent on coffee"—whatever it was. Then write beneath it: "Acknowledged. Released. Moving forward." Literally close the paper or delete the text. This simple act breaks shame's grip and signals to your spirit that you are not carrying it forward.

2. Take one immediate action, however small. If you missed your morning prayer, spend five minutes in prayer right now—not an hour, just five. If you broke your spending discipline, commit to one conscious financial decision in the next hour that honors God. One small act of obedience resets your internal compass and proves to yourself that you are still in the game.

3. Protect your next decision with an environmental shift. If distractions pulled you off course, change your location, your activity, or your company for the next hour. Step outside. Close unnecessary apps. Remove the trigger. Your next decision is more important than your last stumble—guard it fiercely.

A Prayer for You

Father, I come before You not with excuses, but with honesty. I have stumbled today, and I acknowledge it without shame, because Your mercies are new this very moment. Forgive me where I have missed the mark—in my prayer, in my stewardship, in my discipline—and restore to me the joy of standing again. Give me the courage to take one small step of obedience right now, and the wisdom to protect my next decision with the same care
