Roho Emails Are Back, New And Refreshing Devotionals For Your Walk With God
I have seen many of you spend so much of your lives trying to improve those flaws so you can be perceived as perfect people. You spend time trying to “fix” yourself so you feel qualified like you have it together enough to make a unique difference. I am here to tell you that your flaws are part of life! In fact, God uses flaws in your life as a means to accomplish his purposes in ways you could never imagine. God never wants to remove flaws or “thorns in the flesh” from our life. For without them, you may never be moulded and shaped into the person God desires you to become.
I will be the first to admit there are things I want to work on and improve within myself. But the culture we live in constantly tries to tell us we are not good enough. We are pursuing “improving our selves” at the sake of “loving our selves”. Today we need to strike a balance between your goals and a recognition that God loves us perfectly and completely.
I talk with so many ROHO Subscribers who can list all the things you are trying to improve. You want to lose weight. You want more money. You want to have children. You want to find a husband or a wife. Yet if I were to ask you to list the things you love about yourself, many of us have a hard time even coming up with a few things.
The Bible is clear! You are made in the image of God. You are the righteousness of God. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. In you God finds favor! There is nothing you can do to lose God's Love. Today I encourage you to live in the boldness of God's Love. Walk in the full knowledge that God has you in the palm of his hands.
Abandon this race for perfection and spend more time in gratitude. I always say the two most important words you can ever say to God is “Thank you”. Start this week in acknowledgement to God for who he has made you to be.
Peace, ROHO Founder **** YOURR GIVING MAKES AN IMPACT******** **ROHO is 100% supported by our members** Your giving makes a difference.
TODAY'S PRAYER God, you show Your power in the most unexpected ways and people. Where we see flaws, you see golden opportunities to bring forth Your glory. Thank you that we don’t have to be perfect to be used by You; we need only to be willing.. IN JESUS NAME, AMEN.
Scripture for Meditation
2 Corinthians 12:9 — "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness." Paul's thorn in the flesh was never removed, beloved, because God's power is magnified through our limitations. Your flaws are not disqualifications—they are the very places where God's strength becomes undeniable in your life.
Psalm 139:14 — "I praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." This is not flattery or self-delusion, family. This is the psalmist declaring the truth of your divine design. God looked at you and called you marvelous—not after you lose the weight, not after you earn the promotion, but right now, as you are.
1 John 4:18 — "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment." The voice telling you that you are not enough is rooted in fear, not truth. God's perfect love casts out that torment and declares you complete in Christ.
Walking It Out
Write down three things you genuinely love about yourself today. Not improvements you're working toward—things you already possess or already are. Your kindness. Your resilience. Your sense of humor. Speak them aloud. Let your ears hear the truth your heart already knows.
Identify one "flaw" you've been trying to hide, and see how God has used it for good. That sensitivity you thought was weakness? It makes you compassionate. That struggle you thought disqualified you? It gave you wisdom to help others in the same battle. Reframe it.
Text or call someone today and tell them one authentic thing you admire about them. Help another beloved soul see their own reflection in God's eyes. Break the cycle of self-criticism in your community by speaking life into someone else.
A Prayer for You
Father, I come before You today releasing the exhausting pursuit of perfection. Help me see myself as You see me—complete, worthy, and marvelous in Your sight. I renounce the lie that my flaws disqualify me from Your love or from the purpose You've designed for my life. Strengthen me to love myself the way You love me, not despite my weaknesses but understanding that You are perfecting Your purpose through every part of my journey. Help me walk in this truth with boldness and grace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
