Remain Convinced That God Has Your Best interest At Heart, You Will See The Goodness of The Lord

We live in a world that tells you, you should get everything you want. Society tells us to pursue our desires at all costs. If we can dream it, we should get it. The temptations and the desires of the flesh are unrelenting. They eat at your spirit and consume your mind with the desire of what could be. As believers, we wrestle with temptations everyday; the love of money, coveting others materials, greed, jealousy and so much more. Because of our flaws, we sometimes give in to those things and suffer the consequences.

Temptations can often trick us into believing that what we desire is necessary. If we yield to it, those same desires can distract our thinking and lead us to destruction. YET, THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR DESIRES AND GOD'S WILL FOR YOUR LIFE.

Temptations are often detours to realizing the promises of God. Whatever you need, God has already made provisions for it, because God loves us. Our desires can cause pain and heartache when we do not lean on the saving grace of Jesus to lead us to what God has promised. When we do it our way, we will never reap the bountiful rewards of God. “Yield not to temptation” and subdue the passions that burn inside of you. Look to Jesus for comfort and healing, for He will carry you through.

Scripture for Meditation

Proverbs 23:4-5 (KJV) — "Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven." Beloved, this scripture reminds us that the pursuit of wealth for its own sake is empty labor. When we chase money and material things as our primary goal, we're building on sand. God wants us to understand that true security comes not from accumulation, but from alignment with His purpose.

1 Timothy 6:10 (NKJV) — "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." Family, notice Paul does not say money itself is evil—it's the love of money that destroys us. When we make provision an idol, we fracture our relationship with the Provider. Ask yourself: am I stewarding what God has given me, or am I serving the money itself?

Matthew 6:33 (KJV) — "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Here is Jesus' promise, plain and unashamed: when you prioritize His kingdom and His will, provision follows. Not as an afterthought, but as a natural overflow of obedience. God's arithmetic is different from the world's—He multiplies what we surrender to Him.

Walking It Out

1. Audit your desires today. Write down three material things you're currently wanting. For each one, ask yourself honestly: Is this a need God has placed on my heart, or a want the world has planted? Pray over each item and listen for the Holy Spirit's gentle correction.

2. Practice one act of intentional stewardship this week. Whether it's giving to someone in need, paying down debt, or setting aside savings—take one concrete action that says to God, "I trust You with what You've entrusted to me." Let your hands obey what your lips confess.

3. Replace one "I want" thought with "God provides." Every time temptation whispers about something you lack, interrupt it with gratitude for what you already have. Speak it aloud: "God has never failed me, and He won't start today." Train your mind to run toward faith, not away from it.

A Prayer for You

Father God, I come before You acknowledging that my desires have often pulled me away from Your perfect will. Forgive me for the times I've chased after what glitters instead of what glorifies You. Today, I ask You to realign my heart—let me want what You want for me, and give me the courage to release what You have not ordained. Help me to see my resources, however small or large, as tools for Your kingdom, not monuments to my own ambition. As I walk through this day, keep me convinced, deep in my bones, that You have my best interest at heart. In Jesus' name, Amen.
