"Putting Anxiety Behind You, Get The Peace You are Seeking". A Devotional To Overcome Fear
Psalm 56:3 says, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Notice The Bible does not say, “You never struggle with fear.” Fear strikes us all, and the battle begins. So the Bible does not assume that believers will have no anxieties. Instead, the Bible tells you how to fight when they strike.
For example, 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” It does not say, you will never feel any anxieties. It says, when you have anxiety, cast them on God. When the mud splatters your windshield and you temporarily lose sight of the road and start to swerve in anxiety, turn on your wipers of faith and keep moving forward
So my response to the person who has to deal with feelings of anxiety every day is to say: that’s more or less normal. At least it is for me. The issue is: How do we fight them?
The answer to that question is: we fight anxieties by fighting against unbelief and the way you fight this “good fight” (1 Timothy 6:12) is by meditating on God’s assurances for your future peace and by asking for the help of his Spirit.
Your Faith is rooted in the promises of God that clear away the mud of unbelief. Both are necessary: God's Holy Spirit and God's word. We read the promises of God and we pray for the help of his Spirit. Trusting always that God knows the plans he has for you (Jeremiah 29:11 . Therefore your faith grows stronger and the swerving of anxiety straightens out.

Scripture for Meditation
Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV): "Be anxious for nothing, but in every thing by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Beloved, this is not a command to suppress your feelings—it's an invitation to redirect them. When anxiety knocks on your door, answer with prayer instead of panic. God's peace doesn't erase the storm; it guards you in the storm.
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV): "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." Family, fear is not your inheritance. Your birthright in Christ is power—the authority to stand firm. When anxiety whispers lies about your future, remember: you have been given a sound mind. That mind belongs to you. Reclaim it.
Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV): "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed upon You, because he trusts in You." This is the secret: a mind fixed on God is a mind at peace. Not a mind that denies reality, but a mind anchored to something greater than circumstances. Where is your mind today?
Walking It Out
Name one anxiety you're carrying right now and write it down. Don't let it live unnamed in the shadows. Be specific—is it about provision? Health? A relationship? Once you've named it, write beside it one promise from God's Word that directly addresses that fear. Meditate on that promise for the next three days.
Set a prayer alarm on your phone for tomorrow. Choose one time during your day—morning, noon, or evening—when your phone will remind you to stop and pray. When that alarm sounds, pause whatever you're doing. Spend two minutes casting that anxiety on God using His words: "Father, I cast this on You because You care for me."
Speak faith out loud before the day begins. Don't just think it—say it. Look in the mirror and declare: "God knows the plans He has for me. I will not swerve in anxiety. My faith is stronger than my fear." Your words have power, beloved. Let them align with God's truth.
A Prayer for You
Father, I come to You today with the weight of anxiety, and I am laying it at Your feet. You have promised that You care for me, that You know the plans You have for my life, and that Your peace will guard my heart and mind. I ask Your Holy Spirit to strengthen my faith right now—to wipe away the mud of unbelief so I can see clearly the road ahead. Help me to meditate on Your promises and to trust them more than I trust my fears. In Jesus' name, Amen.
