Prayer Request - Cover Your Children This School Year
mailto:ROHO@mailroho.io?subject=Pray%20for%20me.
** As a new school year begins, our hearts turn toward protecting and preparing our children. From little ones heading to preschool to young adults entering college, they face challenges, distractions, and pressures we couldn’t have imagined.
** But we know this: prayer still works. And as parents, guardians, and family, one of the greatest gifts we can give our children is to cover them daily in prayer.
** Here is a prayer you can speak over your child every morning before they walk into the classroom. Let this prayer be your shield for them throughout the year:
** Father God, I place my child in Your hands today. Cover them with Your protection as they leave this home. Keep them safe from danger, harm, and fear.
** Give them wisdom in their studies, peace in their spirit, and joy in their friendships. Guard their hearts and minds from negativity and distraction. Let Your favor rest on them in the classroom, with teachers, and with peers.
** Surround them with good influences. Strengthen their confidence, remind them of their worth, and let them walk boldly in the purpose You have for their life.
** I declare that no weapon formed against my child will prosper. This school year will be one of growth, peace, and success.
Scripture for Meditation
Proverbs 22:6 (KJV) — "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he shall not depart from it."
Beloved, this is not just about academics or behavior—it is about spiritual formation. When you pray over your child each morning, you are training their spirit to recognize God's voice and His protection. Your consistent prayers are seeds planted deep in their soul that will bear fruit for a lifetime.
Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV) — "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Family, your intercession releases the peace of God into your child's life. When you lift them up in prayer instead of worry, you transfer divine protection from your hands to His. That peace becomes a guard around their mind and heart—stronger than any lock, any policy, any precaution.
Psalms 91:11 (KJV) — "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."
This is the promise resting on your child. When you pray this Scripture over them, you are not speaking wishful thinking—you are declaring what God has already assigned. Angels are commissioned. Protection is posted. Your prayer activates what belongs to your child already.
Walking It Out
Pray aloud before they leave home. Do not pray silently or in passing. Speak the morning prayer over your child with your voice—let them hear your authority, your faith, your love. This is not superstition; this is declaration. Do it every school day for the first two weeks of September.
Create a prayer card or sticky note they carry with them. Write one protective Scripture on a small card and place it in their backpack, lunch box, or locker. When they find it during the day, they will be reminded that they are covered. This moves prayer from morning ritual to lived reality throughout their day.
Join a prayer group or partner with another believing parent. Text a friend who has children in school and agree to pray for each other's kids weekly. Two or three gathered in agreement have power (Matthew 18:19). This transforms individual intercession into corporate strength.
A Prayer for You
Lord, I stand before You today as a parent and a intercessor, and I place every child under my care directly into Your hands. Give me the faith to believe that my prayers are not empty words but mighty weapons of spiritual power. Cover their minds from confusion, their hearts from fear, and their paths from danger. Let them sense Your presence in the hallways, classrooms, and playgrounds—let them know they are never alone. And Father, strengthen me to pray this way, not just once, but faithfully all through this school year, trusting that You are keeping what I have committed to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
