Patience is Your Heart Posture While You Wait On God To Fufill His Promises

A few years ago, I went through a very difficult period where I felt like I was losing my grip on the Life I thought I wanted. On the outside, everything looked fine, but there was an internal war going on inside of me. So many of the things I wanted I had, but I still felt incomplete. It seemed as though there was always 1 thing missing. I kept thinking to myself--"I'll be totally happy when I have children, or when I get married" Only to realize that there was nothing on the outside that was going to fulfill this inner need.

If you are like me, then you know what it's like to feel like something is missing. You've worked hard all your life, but there is this nagging pull on your soul- telling you that you should be more happy, you should be more excited. God desires to give you your heart's desires and the test of faith is having the patience to trust God's timing. So many of the things I thought I wanted, I realized I was not ready for. Too many people are praying for things they are not ready to receive. God's timing is not man's timing. In fact the entire Bible is a lesson in Timing. From Abraham to the 12 Disciples, we see people who want things before God's appointed time. God does not move before it's the perfect time for God to move.

I know there are some things you have been praying for. Praying for the restoration of an old relationship. Praying for the promotion on your Job. Praying that a nagging illness is finally healed. God hears your prayers. God is not silent to your pleas. God will come and see about you. Yet God wants you to trust him more. God has never failed. The times when I feel like God is absent, I remember my own testimony and the ways God has made for me. I recall where God has brought me from. And my own story of Faith encourages me to keep trusting God. The key ingredient that separates you from those who do not believe in God is your ability to TRUST GOD EVEN WHEN IT'S DIFFICULT. Everyone can trust God when the sun is shining and they have a pocket full of money. But you are called to Trust God's heart even when you cannot trace God's hand. God's timing may be different from your expectations, but God's timing is STILL PERFECT. He may not come when you want him to, but God is always on time.
