Jamaica Still Needs Us. Let Us Stand Together
I am reaching out again because the recovery in Jamaica is far from over. Families are still without steady food, clean water, and shelter. Every day I am in touch with pastors and community leaders who are doing everything they can with very limited resources.
ROHO is directly supporting these efforts. We are not waiting on partners or large agencies. We are sending assistance straight to the people who need it most. And every gift you give goes directly toward relief.
Scripture reminds us, “Whoever has this world’s goods and sees a brother in need, and opens their heart, the love of God lives in them.” (1 John 3:17)
If you feel led, please give today. Your generosity will put food on a table, restore hope, and remind someone that God sees them in this moment of crisis.
Thank you for standing with Jamaica.
Scripture for Meditation
Proverbs 31:8-9 (NKJV)
"Open your mouth for the speechless, in the cause of all who are appointed to die. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy."
Beloved, this is not a suggestion—it is a divine appointment. When you give to Jamaica, when you stand with the hurting, you are fulfilling the very purpose God has placed in your heart. The Lord positions us as His voice for those whose voices have been drowned out by disaster.
2 Corinthians 9:7 (KJV)
"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."
Family, notice that God does not measure your gift by its size—He measures it by the joy and willingness in your spirit. A widow's mite given with a full heart moves the throne of heaven more than a fortune given with hesitation.
James 2:26 (NKJV)
"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."
Our faith in Christ demands action. When we see a brother in need and do nothing, we make our faith a hollow thing. But when we stretch out our hands in compassion, we breathe life into our belief.
Walking It Out
1. Give what you can, starting today. Do not wait for the perfect moment or the large sum. Visit ROHO's giving platform right now and plant a seed—whether it is five dollars or five hundred. Your obedience matters more than the amount.
2. Share this devotional with three people in your circle. Forward this message to family, your church group chat, or your prayer circle. Multiplication happens when we become carriers of the burden. Let others hear the cry of Jamaica through your testimony.
3. Commit to praying for Jamaica by name, daily, for the next week. Set a reminder on your phone. Speak the names of those pastors and families over your breakfast, your drive, your evening. Prayer and provision work together—intercession opens the door for action.
A Prayer for You
Father, open my heart wide to see Jamaica not as a distant crisis, but as my family in Christ who needs me right now. Give me the courage to give generously, not from my excess, but from my faith that You will supply all my needs. Use my gifts—however small they seem—to restore hope, to feed the hungry, and to remind those who are suffering that You have not forgotten them. Let me be Your hands extended, Your heart made visible. In Jesus' name, Amen.
