Help ROHO Rebuild Jamaica — One Family, One Island, One Faith
This message is deeply personal to me. My family is from Jamaica, and many of my relatives are living through the aftermath of this devastating storm. Like so many others across the island, they’ve lost homes, food, and even the sense of peace that once grounded their daily lives.
As a ministry, ROHO is stepping in directly to bring help to our brothers and sisters in Jamaica. We are raising funds to provide food, water, temporary shelter, and essential rebuilding materials to families who are trying to start over. Every dollar we collect this week will go directly to relief efforts led by ROHO on the ground.
This is more than just rebuilding houses — it’s about restoring hope, dignity, and faith. We may not be able to solve every problem, but when we come together as a community of believers, we can bring light to those standing in darkness.
“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2
If God has blessed you, I’m asking you to give today. No gift is too small. Your generosity will help us feed, clothe, and comfort families in desperate need.
Scripture for Meditation
Galatians 6:2 (KJV)
"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
When you give to Jamaica's families, beloved, you are not simply sending money—you are fulfilling the very law that Christ lived and died to establish. This is the gospel made visible, the kingdom of God at work through your hands.
Proverbs 19:17 (NKJV)
"He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what he has given."
Your generosity toward those suffering in Jamaica is not lost on the throne of heaven. God Himself promises to honor every sacrifice you make on behalf of the vulnerable and broken.
1 John 3:17-18 (KJV)
"But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth."
Faith without works is dead, family. Your words of prayer for Jamaica matter, but your obedience to give—to move beyond sentiment into action—proves that Christ lives in your heart.
Walking It Out
1. Give today, specifically and sacrificially. Whether it's $5, $25, or $100, commit to a donation this week that costs you something real. Check your ROHO website now and complete your gift before this day ends. Your sacrifice speaks louder than your silence.
2. Share this need with your family and your faith community. Forward this devotional to five people in your church, your prayer group, or your circle who have the means to give. Sometimes families need a direct invitation to obey. Be that voice of urgency for them.
3. Commit to pray daily through Sunday for Jamaica's families by name. When you give, you are entered into covenant partnership with those you serve. Pray that God grants them not just shelter, but restored hope, renewed faith, and the strength to rebuild. Your intercession is as vital as your dollars.
A Prayer for You
Father, thank You for the blessing of abundance in my life, even when I don't feel abundant. Open my heart and loosen my hand that I might give to Jamaica with the same compassion that Christ would give. Strengthen the families who have lost everything—restore not just their homes but their hope, their dignity, their peace. And Lord, let my gift be a seed of faith, trusting that You will multiply it far beyond what I can see. Use ROHO's work to show Your kingdom to a nation in crisis, and use my obedience to prove that Your love is real. In Jesus' name, Amen.
