"Godly Counsel: Seeking Decision-Making Wisdom"
There comes a time in every life when you stand at a crossroads—unsure of which path to take. In a world full of opinions, noise, and self-help philosophies, it’s easy to get lost in the clutter. But there is a sacred power in pausing, praying, and listening for the voice of the Lord.
God never intended for us to navigate life alone. He gives us His Word. He gives us wise, godly people. And most importantly, He gives us the Holy Spirit as a divine counselor. Before you make your next move—whether it’s about your family, finances, career, or relationships—slow down and seek the wisdom that comes from above.
This isn’t just about making a good decision. It’s about making a God decision.
Don’t rush. Don’t panic. Don’t rely on your emotions. Ask God to quiet the noise and clarify your direction. Then move with confidence, knowing the steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord.
Your future isn’t random—it’s divine.

** QUOTE OF THE DAY "Godly wisdom doesn't just answer questions — it reveals direction."
Sermon: “Emotions Pass; Decisions Linger” – Bishop T.D. Jakes (
Step forward with clarity. Forward this to someone facing a decision and remind them: God still speaks — if we dare to listen.
Scripture for Meditation
Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) — "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
Beloved, this is the foundation of godly decision-making. Your feelings will deceive you. Your logic will fail you. But when you surrender your understanding to God's wisdom, He becomes your GPS—directing you with precision and purpose.
James 1:5 (NKJV) — "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."
God doesn't hoard His wisdom like the world does. He gives it generously, without judgment, to anyone bold enough to ask. When you face that crossroads, you don't have to guess—you have an open invitation to ask the Almighty.
Psalm 37:23-24 (KJV) — "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand."
Your steps are not accidents, family. They are ordained. Even when you stumble, God's hand catches you. This is the confidence that comes from seeking His counsel first.
Walking It Out
1. Create a decision pause. Before you say yes or no to anything significant, commit to waiting at least 24 hours in prayer. Write down the decision, then spend that time in Scripture, prayer, and silence. Let God speak.
2. Identify your godly counsel circle. List three to five believers—mature in faith, proven in character—whose wisdom you trust. Make a point this week to call one of them and ask for their perspective on a current decision you're facing. Don't lean on one opinion; gather wise counsel.
3. Journal your peace. After you've prayed and sought counsel, write down whether you feel the peace of God about your decision. Colossians 3:15 says His peace should be the umpire in your heart. If there's no peace, wait. If there is, move forward with confidence.
A Prayer for You
Lord, I come before You acknowledging that I cannot see tomorrow and I cannot navigate this life alone. Quiet the noise around me—the opinions, the fear, the pressure—and let me hear Your still, small voice. Give me the wisdom I lack, the courage to wait for Your direction, and the faith to move when You say move. Surround me with godly counsel and keep me from rushing ahead of Your will. I trust that my steps are ordered by You, and I choose to follow Your leading rather than my own understanding.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
