God is The Source of your Strength, God is The Strength of Your Life

The Dictionary defines Joy as "a feeling of great pleasure and happiness" but I would add something else to that definition. For the believer, Joy is more than just a feeling of happiness, Joy is the assurance of God's Divine Presence in your life. At my lowest point, I can still have Joy. When my money is funny, I can still have Joy. When all hell breaks loose, I can still have Joy. Joy is not about happiness. Joy is not about worldly possessions. Joy is an internal connection to the Great God of heaven and Earth. Joy is knowing that If God be for me, who shall be against me? Too many people are chasing happiness, chasing fleeting moments of excitement. When God wants you to have Joy.

The internal strength you need to get to your next level requires that your soul is filled with Joy. You've got to know God for yourself. Because life will get challenging, the winds of change will blow, but Joy will remind you that God is fighting your battles. Joy will speak gently in your midnight hour and declare, "Fret not thyself because of the work of evil doers, neither be thou envious because of the workers of iniquity, for they shall soon be cut down like the chaff, like the green herb they shall wither away."

Joy tells me that Tomorrow will be better than today. Joy assures me that my Sins are forgiven, cast into the sea of forgetfulness, never to rise anymore. I had to learn to stop chasing the things everyone else was chasing. God has called me to be different. God has chosen and set you apart for something better and for something greater. Happiness is fickle, beauty is fleeting, BUT JOY IS EVERLASTING. TODAY I'm focused on my JOY. The JOY of the Lord is your strength.

Scripture for Meditation

Nehemiah 8:10 — "The joy of the Lord is your strength." Beloved, this is not poetry—it is promise. When your bank account looks thin and your circumstances look thick, the joy of the Lord will fortify your spirit in ways money never could. This joy becomes the muscle you need to stand, to endure, and to believe for provision.

Psalm 27:10 — "When my father and mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up." Family, provision is not ultimately tied to your job, your family, or your hustle—it is tied to your Father. When every earthly source seems to fail, God Himself becomes your source, your refuge, and your sustenance.

Proverbs 15:15 — "All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast." A merry heart—a joyful spirit—transforms scarcity into abundance. When your joy is rooted in God and not in circumstances, you feast even when others see only famine.

Walking It Out

First, identify one area where you've been chasing worldly provision or comparing your abundance to someone else's. Write it down. Then deliberately shift your focus to one blessing—material or spiritual—that only God could have given you. Thank Him for it aloud.

Second, the next time anxiety about finances rises in your chest, pause and declare: "The joy of the Lord is my strength." Say it three times. Feel it settle in your spirit. Let joy interrupt the worry cycle.

Third, this week, give something—time, a meal, a word—to someone in need. Giving from joy (not obligation) anchors your trust that God is your source and will provide for you as you steward what He's given.

A Prayer for You

Father, I thank You that my joy does not depend on my circumstances but on Your unfailing presence in my life. Teach me, Lord, to stop chasing the empty promises of this world and to find my strength in the joy of knowing You. Strengthen my faith to believe that You see my financial struggles and that You are working on my behalf even when I cannot see it. Let my joy become a weapon against fear, a declaration that You are greater than any lack, and a testimony to those around me that You alone are worthy of my trust. In Jesus' name, Amen.
