Genesis 26:12 says that, "Isaac sowed seed in that land, and in the same year reaped a hundredfold." We give to God in gratitude of what God has done and with expectation for what He's about to do. Genesis 26:12 (KJV): "Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him."
