Expecting more than the bare minimum

Share

The Bible says, God will Bless you exceeding, abundantly, above all that you can ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Your life must reflect God's awesome power.

For so long I lived only expecting God to do the "BARE-MINIMUM," and It seemed like everyone else was getting blessed all around me. Why were my friends and family much more blessed than I was? Why was it that other people were walking in abundance and living in increase, when my life was staying the same?

God had to reveal to me that my blessings were directly connected to my expectations!

Raise your expectations. Elevate your prayer life! Make room for God to show-off in your life! The bible says, ask and you will receive, but a KEY component of receiving is Expecting God to do just what he said he will do!

I pray that God would still Amaze you! MY MORNING DEVOTIONAL SONG LATELY IS CALLED "STILL AMAZED". You are tired of just getting the "Bare-minimum." You know God wants to raise up some generational shifting blessings in your life, so TODAY, allow these words to sink into your soul.

My heart is still your temple. I'm overwhelmed by your love and your grace. Your voice still wins me over. I'm lost for words every time you are here. And I'm still amazed by you. Yes I am still amazed by you.

A PRAYER FOR EXPECTING MORE FROM GOD Dear God,

I am so grateful for all you have done for me. You have been my fortress and you have protected me from dangers, seen and unseen. I pray that you would AMAZE ME. YOU KNOW WHAT I NEED, BUT PLEASE AMAZE ME GOD. There are wars and rumors of wars, but I pray that would keep me in your perfect peace. Keep me in the palm of your hand. Let no danger come near my home nor my family. I know you desire the very best for us. Help me to show your peace and your love in this day and forever more. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

Scripture for Meditation

Ephesians 3:20 (KJV): "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us..."

Beloved, God's ability is not limited by your current circumstances or your past disappointments. The power working in you right now is the same resurrection power that conquered death itself—and it is actively waiting for your faith to activate it. Stop measuring God by what you've already received; start believing Him for what He promised.

Mark 11:24 (NKJV): "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."

Notice the order, family: belief comes before possession. Your expectations are the bridge between prayer and promise. When you pray for generational blessings, you must see them in your spirit before you see them in your circumstances. That vision is not presumption—it is faith.

Proverbs 23:7 (KJV): "For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he..."

Your life will never rise above the level of your expectations. If you think "bare minimum," you will live bare minimum. But if you think abundance, if you think increase, if you think generational blessing—your actions, your prayers, and your decisions will align with that higher vision.

Walking It Out

Audit your prayers this week. Write down what you've been asking God for. Are your requests reflecting bare-minimum faith or abundant faith? Rewrite one prayer request today to ask for exceeding, abundant blessing—not just relief or survival, but multiplication and generational impact.

Declare something specific over your life daily. Before you pray, speak aloud one specific blessing you are expecting God to do in your marriage, family, or friendships. Don't whisper it—declare it with conviction. Example: "God is shifting my family's financial legacy," or "God is restoring and deepening this relationship beyond what I can imagine."

Make room for the overflow. Take one practical step today that shows you're expecting God to show off. If you're expecting God to bless your marriage, plan a date night you couldn't afford last month. If you're expecting Him to multiply your influence in your circle, invite someone to coffee and speak life into them. Action and expectation work together.

A Prayer for You

Father, forgive me for the years I've settled for crumbs when You promised me a banquet. Open my eyes to see the generational blessings You've already spoken over my life, and strengthen my faith to expect them with boldness. I am raising my expectations today, Lord. I am making room for You to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all I can ask or think—in my marriage, in my family, in my relationships, in my legacy. Still amaze me, Lord. Prove Yourself faithful in ways that will cause generations to praise Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.
