Destiny DNA – Day 2: Give Your Needs to God and He WILL Provide
On this second day of our 14-day journey through Destiny DNA: Purpose & Calling, we turn our attention to finances—a topic that is not just practical, but deeply spiritual.
The truth is, for many of us, the pressure of financial need is not a side note—it’s a storm. And sometimes that storm can make you question everything: your calling, your direction, even your faith. But the message God is trying to send you today is this: Your need is not an obstacle—it’s an invitation.
In Bishop T.D. Jakes’ message, he reminds us of the story in 1 Kings where the prophet Elijah encounters a widow preparing for death. She has just enough flour and oil for one last meal. It’s a desperate, hungry moment. And yet—it’s there, in the middle of that hunger, that God moves.
God doesn’t always show up in the overflow. Often, He shows up in the lack. Why? Because it’s in the space of need that we become open, teachable, dependent, and available. He doesn’t respond to pride—He responds to hunger.
That’s why some of you are in a financial stretch right now—not because God has forgotten you, but because He’s expanding your spiritual capacity. You’re learning not just how to budget—but how to believe. Not just how to cut back—but how to trust forward.
God will stretch what you have until it becomes what you need.
But you have to give it to Him. That last bit of energy, that last idea, that final $20—don’t sit on it, surrender it. Just like the widow had to trust Elijah with her last handful of meal, you may have to trust God with what looks like too little. And in His hands, little becomes more than enough.
You don’t need a windfall. You need faith in the God who meets needs. Not according to your job, your credit score, or your savings—but according to His riches in glory.
Today, give your needs to God—fully. Not with fear. But with expectation.
QUOTE OF THE DAY "God doesn’t just meet needs—He multiplies surrendered lack." —ROHO
CALL TO ACTION Say this prayer before you take another step today: “Lord, I give You every need, every bill, every burden. Teach me to trust You—not just with what I have, but with what I lack. Stretch my faith, multiply my resources, and build my capacity. I believe You will provide—because You always have.”
Keep going. God’s not finished with you. ROHO

Scripture for Meditation
Philippians 4:19 (NKJV) — "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Paul doesn't promise luxury—he promises supply. When you align your finances with His purpose, God becomes your source, not your job, not your savings account, not your credit line. He is the all that covers every gap.
Proverbs 3:9-10 (KJV) — "Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine." This isn't a prosperity gospel—it's a principle. When you give God first place in your finances, not last place after all your wants are satisfied, you demonstrate that you trust Him more than you trust your bank account. Watch how He honors that faith.
Luke 6:38 (NKJV) — "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom." Beloved, God doesn't operate on scarcity. He operates on abundance. But He's looking for a partner—someone willing to release, not hoard. Your generosity in the middle of your need is the seed that breaks the cycle.
Walking It Out
1. Identify one thing you're holding too tightly and release it today. It might be $20, it might be an idea you've been sitting on, it might be time you've been guarding. Ask God what He's asking you to trust Him with—then do it. Write it down. Accountability matters.
2. Create a "firstfruits" commitment this week. Before you pay a single bill, set aside something—even if it's small—to give to your church, to someone in need, or to a ministry that feeds your spirit. Not what's left over. First. This rewires how you see provision.
3. Write down three specific needs you're carrying and pray over them by name. Don't bury them. Bring them to God with specificity. Then release them to His timeline, not your panic. Check back in 30 days and watch what He does.
A Prayer for You
Father God, I come before You today with open hands and an honest heart. I release the pressure I've been carrying, the fear I've been nursing, and the control I've been gripping. You are Jehovah Jireh—my provider—and I choose to trust You with what I cannot provide for myself. Expand my faith in this season of need, and help me see that my lack is an invitation to know You deeper. Give me the courage to give when it's hard, to sow when the harvest isn't visible, and to believe that You will never leave me empty. In Jesus' name, Amen.
