Christmas Morning With Immanuel
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” – John 1:14 (KJV)
For weeks, we have been talking about the pressure, the pushing, and the "night-shift" of the soul. We have been looking at the stars and waiting for the shift. But this morning, we don’t have to look up to find God; we can look beside us.
Emmanuel has arrived. God is with us.
He didn’t arrive in a way the world expected. He didn't come with a political decree or a military parade. He came as a seed. He came as a cry in a cold stable. He came "swaddled"—restricted in human cloth so that you could be released in spiritual glory.
Whatever you are facing this morning, know that the Gift is already in the room. * If there is chaos in your house, the Prince of Peace is in the room. * If there is lack in your pantry, the Bread of Life is in the room. * If there is sickness in your body, the Great Physician is in the room.
The miracle of Christmas isn't just that a Baby was born 2,000 years ago; it’s that the same Christ-Spirit is available to be born in your circumstances today. You don't have to wait for "better days" to experience God. He specializes in entering "manger moments"—the messy, unpolished, and overlooked parts of our lives—and turning them into monuments of His mercy.
Today, stop worrying about what didn't get done or what hasn't arrived yet. Look at what is here. Look at the Grace that sustained you. Look at the Love that found you.
The labor is over. The Life has begun. Unto you a child is born. Unto you a son is given.
Merry Christmas, Beloved. Enjoy the Presence. Peace, ROHO Founder, ROHO
Scripture for Meditation
Isaiah 7:14 (KJV) — "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." The name itself is the promise: God with us. Not God distant, not God waiting for you to get yourself together, but God present in the very circumstance that made you feel abandoned. When you speak the name Immanuel over your situation today, you are declaring that the Divine has already taken up residence in your need.
Matthew 28:20 (KJV) — "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." This isn't a seasonal promise; it's an eternal covenant. Christmas morning extended itself into every morning of your life. The presence that arrived in Bethlehem never left—it simply matured, ascended, and became omnipresent. You carry Immanuel with you always.
Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV) — "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and your minds through Christ Jesus." Gratitude opens the door to His presence. When you thank God for what is in the room—His grace, His faithfulness, His mercy—you shift from what's missing to what's multiplying.
Walking It Out
Name your "manger moment." Write down one messy, unfinished, or painful situation you're facing right now. Then, on that same paper, write "Immanuel is here." Speak it aloud three times. Let your mouth declare what your spirit needs to know. This isn't denial; it's declaration.
Inventory the grace, not the gap. Before you go to bed tonight, list five things God has already provided or protected in your life—not tomorrow's miracles, but today's mercies. A roof. A breath. A friend. A second chance. Write them down. Read them aloud. This rewires your soul toward gratitude.
Invite someone into your Bethlehem. Text, call, or visit one person who's in their own cold stable right now. Share this devotional with them. Let them know that whatever they're facing, the Gift is already in the room with them too. Your witness becomes their warmth.
A Prayer for You
Father, I thank You that Christmas didn't end on December 25th—it's alive in me right now. Forgive me for looking so hard at what's missing that I missed what's here: Your presence, Your peace, Your unfailing love. Immanuel, be born afresh in my circumstances today. Where there is chaos, bring Your order. Where there is doubt, bring Your certainty. And Lord, give me the eyes to see You working in the very rooms I thought were too dark to hold a miracle. In Jesus' name, Amen.
