"But you, Lord, are a shield around me,my glory, the One who lifts my head high" ROHO Daily Devotional

Everything we do at ROHO is rooted in God's word. Nothing in this life is greater than a close relationship with God. There is nothing in this world–nothing at all–that can bring you more joy or more satisfaction than knowing Him. There is no greater purpose in life than following God wholeheartedly. So Make the choice for God. Make time with Jesus not just an afterthought but make your relationship with God a priority. Do you really want to stand in front of God someday and say, “Well, God, I’m so sorry that I didn’t spend more time with you–I was too busy wasting my time on things that don't matter."

As you look into cultivating your focus and incorporating bible study into your daily life. The Bible is the key to a better life with Christ. Studying the bible is vital to your spiritual health because God invites us to meet with Him in every minute of your daily life. You need His Word to get through the day, and we aren’t promised that perfect quiet time to study our bibles. That’s why we need to find other ways to integrate the Bible into our daily lives.

Importance of incorporating bible study into your daily life. * Bible study transforms you: The Word of God restores you, makes you wise, gives joy to our heart, enlightens our eyes, warns us of judgment and promises reward. In Psalms 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24 And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting! * God's word is a source of strength; In Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” * Bible study helps you to know the truth and recognize lies; Acts 17:11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

Scripture for Meditation

Psalm 27:10 (KJV) — "When my father and mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up."

Beloved, there will be seasons when earthly relationships fail us, when those we counted on disappoint us. But God promises to be the one who never leaves, never forsakes, never grows weary of you. He is the shield that protects your heart when human love falls short.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) — "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

When you prioritize your relationship with God above all else, He becomes the foundation that stabilizes every other relationship in your life. Your marriage, your friendships, your family bonds—they all find their truest health when Christ is the center, not an afterthought.

Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV) — "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and your minds through Christ Jesus."

Family, bring your relational struggles directly to the throne of grace. When you invite God into the broken places—the misunderstandings, the distance, the pain—His presence brings a peace that transcends your circumstances and begins to heal what only He can touch.

Walking It Out

1. Create a "God First" anchor moment today. Choose one specific time—your morning coffee, your lunch break, your evening wind-down—and commit the next seven days to meeting God there without distraction. Not for perfection, but for presence. Let Him see you're serious about prioritizing Him.

2. Speak truth into a strained relationship this week. Identify one relationship that needs healing or strengthening. Send a text, make a call, or have a conversation rooted in what you're learning from Scripture. Let your renewed commitment to God's Word naturally overflow into how you love the people around you.

3. Journal one way God has been your shield this week. Write down a moment—big or small—where you felt His protection, His presence, His peace. Naming His faithfulness rewires your heart to recognize Him as your true source of security, not the approval or presence of others.

A Prayer for You

Lord, I come before You today asking for grace to make You my first love, my shield, and my glory. Forgive me for the times I've chased after the validation of others when I should have been seeking Your face. Heal the relationships in my life that have grown cold or distant, and use my renewed devotion to You as the catalyst for reconciliation and deeper love with my family and friends. Help me see that when I truly know You, I become equipped to love others the way You've loved me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
