I have Been Young, and Now am Old, But I Have Never Seen The Righteous Forsaken, nor his children begging Bread
A few years ago I was in a prayer service and I noticed a men seated in the back of the church. He sat there completely still listening to the prayers and the testimonies being offered by the other church goers. In the weeks following I noticed this same men, seated in the same section. I approached him one night and asked, “I’ve noticed you come to prayer service every week but you always sit in the back and not say anything”—-he responded to me “Reverend, you will never know how much encouragement I get from just hearing these testimonies. I have a very stressful job and I love coming here just to hear how God is moving in other peoples lives”. The testimonies of other people can be your source of strength.
I’ve included a testimony from a ROHO Subscriber that I pray will bless your soul.
Prayer is our soul's sincere desire to commune with God. Prayer gives you access to God. I can see God's hand upon your life and I stand in agreement with you that God will help you and deliver you no matter what situation.
Take a few minutes out of your day and lift up your petitions to God.

RECEIVED FRIDAY Night 11:50 PM Est (
"Greetings Reverend Richards, I want to thank you for calling me yesterday. It was great to spend a few minutes talking to you about whats going on. 've been reading your emails for 2 years and it was good to hear your voice. When you called me it just made me think back over my life and everything I’m going through that I still have so much to be grateful for, and yes, the enemy has stolen a lot as well. To make a long story short, I have been living in a dark place for some time now.
Going from having a roof over my head, employed, making a decent salary financing a vehicle drawing closer to God, going to church faithfully, meeting bible study regularly, just living what I would consider a content life. And seem like just out of the blue my whole life flips upside down.
My health started to deteriorate, the enemy started attacking me in every area of my body, got to the point where I wasn’t even able to walk anymore without using a walker. I lost my job, my apartment, my vehicle, and my health is still spiraling downward. I need the help of Jesus and the Prayer Warriors...This ministry is the only thing that keeps me hopeful every day...Thank you." (Phyllis Mattison--Bronx, New York)
Scripture for Meditation
Psalm 37:25 (KJV) — "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread." This psalmist speaks from a lifetime of watching God's faithfulness. Beloved, God does not abandon those who trust Him—He sustains them through every season, and this promise extends to your children and your children's children.
Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV) — "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." When you speak your testimony and allow others to witness God's work in your life, you are training the next generation in the ways of righteousness. Your faithfulness becomes their inheritance.
1 Peter 3:15 (KJV) — "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." Your testimony is not just for you—it is a living witness that draws others into the presence of God and strengthens their weary souls.
Walking It Out
First, share your testimony this week with at least one person who is struggling. Do not wait for the perfect moment or the polished words—simply tell how God has shown up in your life. Your vulnerability will become their strength.
Second, commit to being present in a place of corporate prayer or worship for the next four weeks, even if you sit in the back. Let the testimonies of others water your soul and remind you that God is still moving, still working, still faithful.
Third, write down three specific ways God has sustained you or your family when provision seemed impossible. Keep this written record and review it when doubt whispers lies. This becomes your personal psalm of deliverance.
A Prayer for You
Father God, I thank You for a life lived under Your watchful eye, and I thank You that my children and grandchildren will inherit the testimony of Your faithfulness. Give me courage to speak what You have done, not for my glory, but so that others may find hope in Your promise. Open my ears to hear the testimonies of my brothers and sisters, and let their faith strengthen mine. I stand on Psalm 37:25 today, believing that You will never forsake me or mine, and I declare that my household shall serve You all the days of our lives. In Jesus' name, Amen.
