Confusion reigns in inconsistency but be not dismayed because God's love is the same, yesterday, today and forever
For Some reason 2023, felt a lot like 2020, it was a year of stress, confusion and worry for a lot of people. I know how difficult the storms of life can be, where you are facing one calamity after another, only to find that the hope and optimism you once had is gone. So often hopelessness becomes collateral damage after you get out of the storm. It's one thing to make it to the other side of a difficult problem, but often when we search the inner corridors of our soul we see that the storm has changed us forever.
I have seen so many people who have lost all sense of joy and happiness in their life. They are physically alive, but emotionally dead. No one talks about the emotional weight that storms put upon us. I know that you have to act like everything is going right, I know you have to pretend that you can hold it all together. But Today, I want you to take some of the weight off and become vulnerable. It is not easy dealing with storms. I know you had so much hope and joy and laughter in your life, and God is declaring today, it's time to get your Joy Back!
God doesn't want you to just come through the storm alive, God wants you to flourish. God wants you to have joy. God wants to see you smile. I have learned that in storms, I have to fight for my joy. I refuse to give up my hope. Tomorrow will be better than today. Your latter shall be greater than your former. Your best days lie ahead. God wants you to thrive!

Dear God, I come before you broken and bruised, for you know the issues I am facing. You know the trouble I have seen I also know that you are the great God of the universe. For you have the whole world in your hands. Please restore unto me the joy of your salvation. Light up my life, that I may see all your glory and goodness. Renew my hope. Repair my broken places and Give me joy again. In Jesus Christ name I pray Amen.
Scripture for Meditation
Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) — "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."
Beloved, when everything around you shifts like sand, Jesus remains unmoved and unchanging. Your circumstances may be inconsistent, but His character is your anchor. In a year that felt like repetition of pain, His constancy is the one thing the enemy cannot steal.
Nehemiah 8:10 (NKJV) — "The joy of the Lord is your strength."
You cannot fight for tomorrow with yesterday's empty cup. Joy is not frivolity—it is spiritual fuel. God knows the storms have drained you, and He is calling you to draw strength not from your circumstances, but from His presence and His promises over your life.
Proverbs 23:7 (KJV) — "For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he."
Family, your recovery begins in your thought life. Stop rehearsing the storms. Begin declaring your latter over your former. When you align your thinking with God's truth about you—that you are destined to flourish—your heart and your actions will follow.
Walking It Out
Name one area where the storm took your joy — whether in your marriage, family, or friendships—and speak life back into it today. Write down three specific moments of joy you once had there, then pray those memories back into reality.
Create a daily declaration — Speak aloud each morning: "My latter shall be greater than my former. I refuse to stay emotionally dead. God is restoring my joy today." Consistency breaks the cycle of confusion.
Be vulnerable with one trusted person — Stop carrying the weight alone. Tell someone you trust, "I'm still hurting from the storm. I need prayer." Vulnerability in safe relationships is where healing begins.
A Prayer for You
Lord, I come to You weary from storms I didn't ask for, carrying a weight I never meant to keep. Thank You that while everything has shifted, You have not. Restore to me the joy that the enemy tried to steal—not just surface happiness, but deep, rooted delight in Your faithfulness. Give me courage to be vulnerable, wisdom to align my thoughts with Your truth, and strength to fight for my future. I declare today that my best days are ahead, and I will flourish under Your hand. In Jesus' name, Amen.
